Feb 5 - It's hot and we are working hard

hola familia y amigos,

this week was a lot of fun. it is getting pretty hot here in Santiago and now we actually have part of the numbers that we report how much water we drink per day.

on Tuesday we had an awesome lesson with Danitza. Danitza is the daughter of a woman that we found in the street. we taught Danitza and invited her to read the book of mormon. she read it in two days, and she prayed and received an answer that it was true. we met with her again this week, and she invited her sister over to here, because she thought it was so amazing what we taught. on the last lesson we had this week with her she gave us a note at the end of the lesson that said thank you for all that we had taught her, but that for some things she read on the internet she will not be looking into the church more. ouch. needless to say we are going to try and talk with her and resolve her doubts, so we will see what happens there. keep those prayers coming.

on Tuesday we had a meeting with our new ward mission leader. new ward mission leaders are the best because they always ask an awesome question "Elders, what do you want me to do"? our new ward mission leader is Gelman, and he has a lot of experience in the church and we are excited to work with him.

on Thursday we had another awesome lesson with the pino family and oscar and Anaiz. they are both passing through some difficult problems right now, and they are so busy that they havent had time to think about or discuss marriage, so we are going to have to take it slow with them.

this week we also found another awesome lady. Erica is the owner of a little grocery store in the apartments that are in our sector. she told us that sister missionaries had visited her before, and we taught her and she agreed to getting baptized. she feels very lonely because she lives a lone, and she really wants to visit the church. we are also going to help her quit smoking so she can get baptized too.

Sunday was an interesting day because Yunia did not get confirmed. the bishop failed to tell us that he first needed to talk with her husband before she could get confirmed (because the husband has had problems witht he church in the past) so we are going to wait until next week.

yesterday was rough because there was a colo colo soccer game and everyone was watching it, and they dont give you the time of day when colo colo is playing.

i am very thankful to be a missionary. I am learning a ton here in the mission, and I am getting to know lots of new people. I am trying to become more like Christ every day.

Love,

Elder Williams
